The Cinque Terre is a beautiful strech of Italy's coast on the Mediterranean Sea. The Five villages that make up the Cinque Terre are connected by an 11 mile path that people come from all parts of the world to stroll and see thes ancient villages. Fortunately Cinque Terre is close to Torino and not to difficult to visit.

The majority of visitors begin their walk from Monterosso or Riomaggiore. The first stretch of the trail, if one decides to depart from Riomaggiore  is fondly referred to as “the street of love” or Via Dell’ Amore as the most picturesque villages can be seen from there.

The first three villages are a breeze, however the hike between the third and the fourth village is a comfortable two walk and the longest of all the paths. This path winds around and back into the hillside where you see the ocean again. There are many places along the Cinque Terre path that go down to beautiful beaches. Some of these are nude beaches.

Futher on you come to Vernazza, a good spot to eat at some very authentic Italian restaurantswith great seafood and fantastic views. A lot of tourists and locals use the path between Vernazza and Monterosso; this is the most difficult because the paths are very narrow in places.

Cinque Terre is a must see for anyone visiting Italy or the Mediterranean looking for a very special vacation.  Active vacationers will really enjoy the Cinque Terre Path. Those who are not so active can still enjoy the villages while travelling by train.
